"Be the teacher who believes in the kids who don't yet believe in themselves." Kellie May is one such educator. It is easy for her to believe in students, because she can see the future in each and every one of them. She feels so fortunate to have been fueled by the student potential that filled her classroom for 23 years.
Kellie is dedicated to spreading passion for public education along to others. She has mentored new and provisional teachers, hosted practicum students and had a dozen student teachers. Kellie is an instructor for an introduction to teaching course at the local university. She wants others to know that though teaching can be challenging, you will not find a career more rewarding to be a part of.
As a life-long learner and veteran educator of more than two decades, Kellie still understands that there is always more to learn. She is currently in a district position that provides support for early career educators. 1 district, 3 degrees, 5 schools, 7 classrooms, 10 principals, 12 student teachers, and thousands of students later, Kellie is absolutely certain and grateful for the career choice she made.
